This "See Through Shadow" colour has a white top, white belly and see through sides (no flash-plate) and a purple smudge over the eye. A perfect colour choice for clear water conditions.

The Xorus Patchinko 100 brings the famous Patchinko surface action into a smaller 100mm profile, making it a superb choice when bass are feeding on smaller bait or when you simply want a more subtle topwater presentation.

At only 11g, it may sound a little light to some anglers, but don't underestimate how well this lure casts. The aerodynamic body shape and internal weight transfer system help the Patchinko 100 fly surprisingly well for a surface lure of this size.

Like the larger Patchinkos, it's also incredibly easy to work. A few small twitches of the rod tip will get it walking the dog, with the lure walking, sliding and dipping across the surface. You can work it steadily or mix the retrieve up with pauses and changes of pace to try and trigger a following bass.

For me, the real advantage of the Patchinko 100 is being able to scale down the size of your surface lure without losing the action that made the Patchinko such a successful bass lure in the first place.

It's an excellent little lure for calmer conditions, shallower water and those occasions when bass are clearly concentrating on smaller prey.

Mick's Tip

Don't be put off by the 11g weight. The Patchinko 100 casts far better than you might expect from such a small surface lure. It's one I would reach for when I can see bass working small bait and a larger 125 or 140mm lure looks like it might be too much.
