The Xorus Asturie 150 is the larger model in the Asturie family, combining a big 150mm profile with a 32g casting weight that makes it an excellent choice when you need to cover plenty of water.

Predominantly a surface lure, the Asturie 150 has the ability to dip and swim below the surface during the retrieve, reaching approximately two feet depending on how you work it. This gives you a little more versatility than a conventional surface-only lure.

The Asturie is best known for its distinctive long-slide action. Think of it as a slower and more exaggerated version of walking the dog. With controlled movements of the rod, the lure makes long, sweeping slides from side to side rather than a short, tight zigzag.

At 150mm and 32g, this larger Asturie has plenty of presence on the water and casts extremely well. It's a great lure when you want to search a large area, fish into wind or present bass with a substantial baitfish profile.

You can work it steadily across the top, allow it to dip beneath the surface or change between the two during the same retrieve. That ability to vary the action and depth is one of the things that makes the Asturie such an interesting lure to fish.

Mick's Tip

The Asturie 150 is one I'd choose when I want distance and a bigger presence on the surface. Don't rush the retrieve — give the lure enough time to make those long sweeping slides. You can also deliberately work it harder to make it dip below the surface before allowing it to come back up, giving you another way of triggering a following bass.
