Westin Sandy Andy Weedless 23g

The Westin Sandy Andy Weedless 23g is a really useful all-round size, combining the proven Sandy Andy sandeel profile with a weedless rig that allows you to fish confidently around rocks, weed and snaggy ground.

At 23g, I think this is a particularly versatile weight. It's heavy enough to cast well and get down when you need it, without becoming too heavy for normal bass lure tackle. From the shore it will cover most of the depths we're likely to encounter, while it's also an excellent choice for inshore boat fishing.

The slim sandeel-shaped body produces a natural swimming action that appeals to bass, pollack and other predatory fish, while the weedless hook arrangement makes it particularly useful when you want to work the lure close to structure or near the bottom.

Mick's Tip

For me, 23g is probably the most useful all-round weight in the weedless Sandy Andy range. It gives you enough weight to fish a good range of depths from the shore and casts nicely on standard bass tackle. It's also a great little lure for inshore boat fishing. The weedless set-up really comes into its own when you're fishing close to rocks, kelp and other snaggy ground where the fish are often holding.
