Description
Flashmer Forged Stainless Steel Split Rings
When it comes to attaching hooks and lures, a good quality split ring is one of those small pieces of tackle you really don't want to let you down. These Flashmer Forged Stainless Steel Split Rings are the ones I use myself, whether I'm fishing for bass around Jersey or heading overseas to tackle some seriously powerful fish.
For my bass fishing here in Jersey, I generally use the 6mm and 7mm sizes on my hard lures. They're ideal for replacing existing split rings, changing trebles or fitting single hooks.
When I'm fishing abroad, particularly in places like Panama, I step up to the 9mm, 10mm and 12mm sizes for larger lures and more powerful species such as roosterfish, amberjack and cubera snapper.
And if you want to know just how much confidence I have in these split rings, the 14mm size was what I used when I hooked my 100lb Giant Trevally in Oman!
That's a pretty good test of any piece of terminal tackle, especially something as small but important as a split ring.

Mick's Tip
I always pay particular attention to split rings when preparing my tackle for a fishing trip. There's little point spending good money on quality lures, hooks, rods and reels only to overlook the tiny ring holding everything together.
For my regular bass fishing, the 6mm and 7mm sizes cover most of what I need. When I'm heading somewhere like Panama or Oman, I take a selection of the larger sizes so I can match the ring to the lure, hook and fish I'm targeting.
I've used these Flashmer split rings for years and have complete confidence in them. They're a small but essential part of my tackle, and I wouldn't stock them if I didn't trust them myself.
