One of the biggest advantages of the Decoy Y-S21 is its combination of lightweight construction and impressive strength.

When fishing with surface plugs and shallow diving minnows, hook weight can make a real difference to how a lure performs. Fitting unnecessarily heavy trebles can alter the balance, swimming action and buoyancy of a carefully designed lure.

The Y-S21 provides the strength needed for serious bass fishing while remaining light enough to preserve the action of most standard bass hard lures.

Another excellent feature is its resistance to saltwater corrosion. In our experience, these hooks stand up remarkably well to regular sea fishing, although no conventional steel hook is completely immune to tarnishing or rust when exposed to saltwater.

The Decoy Y-S21 has a bit of history here at Mr Fish Jersey. It was actually the very first product I started selling online, over 19 years ago!

And all these years later, it's still the main treble hook we sell for probably 99% of our bass hard lures.

I love these hooks because they're light, strong and incredibly resistant to rust. Of course, nothing lasts forever in saltwater, especially when we're constantly fishing around rocks, weed and rough ground, but I've always been impressed by how well the Y-S21 stands up to regular use.

One thing I always tell anglers is to be careful when changing the trebles on their favourite lures. A heavier hook might seem like an upgrade, but it can completely change the way a small surface lure sits or swims.
