Description
Tackle House Feed Shallow 105+ Plus – Long Casting Shallow Running Bass Lure
The Tackle House Feed Shallow 105+ takes the brilliant little original 105 and gives it a little extra weight, making an already excellent bass lure even more versatile.
At 105mm and now weighing 17.5g, the Plus version offers improved casting distance and better performance in challenging conditions, particularly when fishing into headwinds, surf or strong tidal flow.
I've been a huge fan of the Feed Shallow family since first testing the original 128 in Ireland back in 2008. It was that wonderful natural rolling action that first impressed us, and it's still one of the main reasons I rate these lures so highly.
The 105+ continues that tradition, combining a compact baitfish profile with a lovely, tight swimming action that bass find difficult to ignore.
Where the 105+ really comes into its own is fishing very shallow water.
Running just inches beneath the surface, it's an excellent choice for working over shallow reef tops, sandbars, weed-covered ground and those awkward marks where a deeper-diving lure would constantly be catching the bottom.
The additional weight helps it punch through a breeze and maintain a consistent swimming action when there's a bit of surf or tidal movement to contend with.
And, like the rest of the Feed Shallow range, it's incredibly easy to fish.
There's no need for complicated retrieves or constant rod movements. Simply cast it out and wind it back steadily, allowing the lure's natural action to do the work.
You can certainly add the occasional twitch or pause to vary the presentation, but a straightforward retrieve is often all you need.
Mick's Tip
If you're already familiar with the standard Feed Shallow 105, the Plus version is well worth considering when conditions become a little more challenging.
That extra 1.5g might not sound like much, but it helps when casting into a headwind or trying to reach fish holding just beyond a shallow reef.
Personally, I wouldn't overcomplicate the retrieve. The Feed Shallow range has always been about letting the lure's natural swimming action attract the fish.
The 105+ comes fitted with two Owner ST46 size 3 trebles. If you prefer Decoy hooks, the Y-S21 size 3 is a suitable replacement.

This 17.5 g version casts better than the standard 105..However the extra weight has turned it into a slow sinker. Got round this by removing the treble hooks and fitting size 2 Mustad Kaiju single hooks with size 3 ima split rings. Lure swims great now and has a really good action..NB..I bought 2 of these and both needed fine tuning, something you should not have to do on a premium priced product..Wasn’t such a big deal to me as I usually fit single hooks anyway.
