T-Bar Push/Pull Fish Unhooking Tool – 10"

A simple but extremely useful piece of kit when dealing with large, powerful fish such as bluefin tuna, where getting a hook out quickly and safely isn't always easy.

I brought these in specifically for our tuna fishing. With a big fish alongside the boat, hooks can be firmly embedded in the hard mouth and simply pulling at them isn't always the easiest or safest way to release the fish. The push/pull head allows you to get hold of the hook and either push or pull it free, depending on how the hook is sitting.

At 10 inches long, it gives you useful reach while keeping your hands away from the hook and the fish's mouth. The large 5-inch T-bar handle also gives you plenty of grip and leverage when you need to push a heavy hook back out.

Made from stainless steel and aluminium, it's strong, corrosion resistant and well suited to saltwater and boat fishing.

Mick's Tip

This is exactly why I got these in. When you have a tuna alongside the boat ready for release, you don't want to spend unnecessary time struggling with a hook buried in its hard mouth. Being able to get onto the hook and push it back out as well as pull it can make unhooking much quicker and easier.
