Description
Sea Deep Fu-Shima 30g – Fast-Sinking Squid Jig
The Sea Deep Fu-Shima is a precision-engineered Egi squid jig, specially designed for keeping contact with the bottom for slow straight dragging, or with the Bichi Bachi technique. (I will write a decription of the Bichi Bachi technique below).
Designed for Depth and/or Current
With its high-density body and streamlined jig head, the Sea Deep Fu-Shima excels in deep water or strong current conditions.
Its optimized hydrodynamic shape and fast sinking rate (approximately 1.5 seconds per meter) lets you reach your target depths quickly and fish with precision — even from a boat in deep water.
Anti-Snag Keel Design
The jig’s boat-keel-shaped weight reduces snagging and allows for wide, three-dimensional jerks that perfectly mimic natural prey movements.
Premium Coating
A durable satin-finish fabric with iridescent reflections captures even the faintest light, making the jig visible and enticing in deep or murky conditions. This coating also resists wear and damage from cephalopod beaks.
Exclusive, Highly Attractive Colours
Available in a unique range of Fu-Shima-exclusive colours, each pattern is designed for maximum visual attraction to squid and cuttlefish.
Quality Feathers for Realistic Action
Forward-facing side feathers simulate fish fins and gill movement, slightly slowing the descent while emitting micro-vibrations irresistible to cephalopods.
A very popular squid jig here in Jersey with both shore and boat squid fisherman!
Being 30g:
1) It stays on the bottom, and with the advantage that the connection point is on the top of the head it keeps the rear prongs of the jig up off the bottom (less prone to snagging)
2) You can use in depth and strong currents with the Bichi Bachi technique:
The Bichi Bachi technique comes from Japan and is all about giving your squid jig some real action. Using quick, snappy jerks of the rod, you make the lure dart and flash through the water like a panicked fish or shrimp. Then you pause and let it flutter back down — that’s often when the squid strike!
It’s a fun, active way to fish that really gets results, especially in deep water or strong currents. The name “Bichi Bachi” actually comes from the sound of those sharp rod movements — bichi, bachi! — a rhythm that draws in curious and aggressive squid every time.
