Description
Tackle House Feed Shallow 155+ Plus – Long Casting Bass Lure
The Tackle House Feed Shallow 155+ takes the brilliant original 155 and adds a little extra weight, making this large, shallow-running bass lure an even better option when casting distance really matters.
At 155mm and 31g, the Plus version is 3g heavier than the standard model, giving you that little bit of extra help when casting into a headwind, fishing exposed shore marks or trying to reach bass feeding further out.
I've been a huge fan of the Feed Shallow family since first testing the original 128 in Ireland back in 2008. It was that wonderful natural rolling action that first caught our attention, and it's a big part of why these lures have become such classics amongst bass anglers.
The Feed Shallow 155+ retains that lovely rolling action, but with the added advantage of extra casting weight.
Despite its substantial size, this is still a shallow-running lure, designed to work just beneath the surface rather than diving down into the rocks and weed.
It's an excellent choice for fishing over shallow reefs, weed-covered ground, rocky gullies and sandy beaches, particularly when you want to present a larger baitfish profile.
And don't be put off by its size. Like the rest of the Feed Shallow family, it's incredibly easy to fish.
There's no need for complicated retrieves or constant rod movements. Simply cast it out, wind it back steadily and let that natural rolling action do the work.
Mick's Tip
The larger Feed Shallows have a particularly strong following with bass anglers up in Alderney, where some of the lads absolutely swear by the 155!
The 155+ gives you that same large baitfish profile with an extra 3g of casting weight, which is particularly useful when the wind picks up or you need to reach fish that little bit further offshore.
I wouldn't overcomplicate the retrieve either. The beauty of these lures has always been their natural rolling action, so a steady wind is often all that's needed.
If you're fishing exposed marks where a lighter lure struggles to reach the fish, the 155+ is well worth considering.
