Ragot Raglou Hybrid 120 Soft Lure – 25g

The Ragot Raglou Hybrid 120 caught my eye straight away because it takes something that has worked for decades and brings it right up to date. Ragot have combined a modern weighted jighead-style body with the classic Raglou ribbon/paddle tail, creating a lure that looks superb in the water while retaining that proven Raglou tail action.

One thing I particularly like about these is how tough they feel. A lot of modern soft lures can be very effective but are easily damaged after a fish or two. The Raglou Hybrid is a much tougher lure, so you should be able to catch plenty of fish on one before it needs replacing.

The finish is also excellent for the money. The beautifully painted and detailed heads and bodies give these lures a very realistic baitfish appearance, with some particularly good natural colours available for bass fishing.

At 120mm and 25g, I think this is a very useful size and weight for our bass fishing. It has enough weight for good casting from the shore while still giving you a relatively small baitfish profile. The weighted design also makes it easy to fish at different depths depending on your retrieve.

What attracted me to these was the combination of old and new. The Raglou style of tail has been catching fish for years, but putting it behind a modern, beautifully finished weighted body makes a lot of sense. They're tough too, which is increasingly important when so many softer modern lures can get destroyed very quickly.
